Obituary For Tyra M. Porter

Tyra Monique Burgess Porter, 41, was the daughter of Cecil Dodd and the late Ona Lee Miller and Ida Ruth Porter and the late J. H. Porter. She entered into eternal rest on October 8, 2018. Tyra attended Dorman High School. She was a member of Holden Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her children, Christopher Dae-Shawn Porter and Ty'Asia Monique Porter of Spartanburg, SC; her sister-mommy, Dr. Jan Porter of Spartanburg, SC; her stepfather, James Miller of Spartanburg, SC; her grandmother, Alease Dodd of Boiling Springs, SC; her siblings, Tammy English, Roberta T. Porter, Shirley P. Posey (Ray), Joyce D. Porter and Rhonda C. Porter all of Spartanburg, SC, Alisa P. Rupe (Joel) of Sylvania, OH, Derrick Clowney (Nada), Dr. John H. Porter (Erri), James M. Porter (Barbara), Charles E. Porter, Eddie W. Porter (Robin) and Comic O. Porter all of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of the Life of Tyra M. Burgess Porter will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Holden Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2260 Old Furnace Rd., Boiling Springs, SC. Rev. Jerry Louis Gadsden will officiate.
