Obituary For Willie Brewton, Sr.

WELLFORD, SC-- Mr. Willie Claude Brewton, Sr., a resident of Reid House Assisted Living at 117 Dodd Street, was born on September 2, 1958 to the late James Earle Brewton and the late Margie Black Brewton as the fifth child of six children. On Monday evening, March 7, 2016 Willie peacefully departed this life at Pelham Medical Center in Greer, SC. Willie attended the Harrison Grove Baptist Church in Roebuck, SC where he accepted and served his Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. Mr. Brewton served as a loyal Mason for many years. Willie will always be remembered as an ecstatic individual to all who knew him. He was also a humorous person who enjoyed making people laugh. Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Theresa Brewton. He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Jesse James Brewton who departed this life two weeks ago on February 20, 2016. Mr. Brewton leaves to cherish fond memories: a son, Willie Claude Brewton, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Thelma Brewton of Inman, SC, Mary Ann (James) Woodruff and Savannah Brewton both of Spartanburg, SC; a brother, Thomas Brewton of Spartanburg, SC; one nephew reared in the home, Modis Brewton of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Willie Claude Brewton, Sr. will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC. The Reverend Dr. Leon C. Rector, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends at the home of a sister, Mary Ann (James) Woodruff, 585 Hugh Street, Spartanburg, SC.
