Obituary For Willie Jones
On October 28, 1938 Willie Lois Boyd Land was born to Willie Louis Boyd and Grethel Land in Spartanburg County. Willie was affectionately called Lois. She attended Lincoln Consolidated School. Lois later relocated to New Jersey and earned her LPN license at Essex County College. She worked at Spartanburg General Clara Maass Hospital, South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. She was preceded in death by: her two sons, David Kennedy and Johnny Ray; and her two grandchildren, Jajuan and Malik. Lois was the loving mother of five children of whom she cherished and adored survivors include: children, Dorothy Wilson of Newark, NJ, Gail Mullins and Danny Slade of the home; brothers, Bouregard Land, Donell Long (Conice) both of Spartanburg, SC; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. We will miss her dearly and will cherish fond memories, family holiday cookouts, holiday dinners, credo fests and her famous Cole slaw and Pina Coladas. Services will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Kingdom New Life Apostolic Church, Una, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC.
