Obituary For Wilma Dawkins

Wilma Teamer Dawkins was born on March 16, 1941 in Cowpens, SC to the late Jessie Mae and Vernon Bernard Teamer.

She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board.

Mrs. Dawkins retired from Phillips Fibers after twenty-six years of service. She later worked part-time for the Spartanburg Herald Journal.

Wilma was preceded in death by: her brothers, William and Henry Teamer; and her sister, Novella Mitchell.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her husband, Joe Donald Dawkins of Cowpens, SC; her children, Jessie Makupson (Rickey) of Gaffney, SC, Rosiland Barnes and Sharon Dewberry both of Cowpens, SC, Vincent Dawkins (Tracey) of Shelby, NC and Joseph Dawkins of Cowpens, SC; her sisters, Vernice Thompson of Spartanburg, SC, Delilah Williams of Cowpens, SC Allene Martin of Spartanburg, SC and Rozonia Oglesby of Cowpens, SC; her brother, John T. Teamer (Vivian) of Pacolet, SC; her brothers-in-law, Bobby Dawkins of Atlanta, GA and Charles Dawkins (Genovia) of Spartanburg, SC; her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Fields (Boyce) of GA and Janice Tolliver of Spartanburg, SC; her special nieces who were like her daughters, Thelma Teamer, Arlene Wilkins, Robin Porter and Trina Smith; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of the Life of Wilma Teamer Dawkins will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 299 S. Linda St., Cowpens, SC. Rev. Vincent Dawkins and Rev. McKinley Miles will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home, 201 Kennedy St., Cowpens, SC.
