Obituary For Sydney Susanne Morton Graham
Sydney Susanne Morton Graham, 31, peacefully entered into eternal rest at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY on Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Sydney was born on September 27, 1992, in Lexington, KY. She was the daughter of Robby and Schuronda Morton. She professed her belief in Christ at an early age, at St. Paul A. M. E. Church Richmond, where she was a member of the usher board, choir, and the YPD. She was a 2010 graduate of Madison Central High School where she played soccer, and as a member of the Mock Trial Team won two state competitions, Best Witness, and Best Attorney under the tutelage of Judge William G. Clouse Jr. Sydney graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Law and Public Policy. She received her Master’s in Urban Planning and Public Administration.
Sydney’s life was full of love. She married her longtime sweetheart, Christian on November 18, 2017 after more than ten years of courtship. Their love carried them through undergraduate and graduate degrees, career changes, frequent moves and ultimately produced their daughter Chance JoAnna on May 5, 2020.
Sydney was known for her sense of humor, quick one-liners, and no-nonsense personality. She was a loving wife, mother, and “pawrent” to her cat, Luna and dog, Lola. She loved changing hairstyles with the season, nail art, a good sale, seeing a plan come to fruition, and caring for her family.
Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Chance JoAnna Graham; husband, Christian Graham; parents, Robby and Schuronda Morton; brother, Ramsey Morton; brother, Carlos Igo; grandfather, Damon Warfield, Jr.; in-laws, Damon and Gwen Graham; aunts Lela Faye Ewing, and Roberta Saunders; cousin, Shellie (C.J.) Scott; uncles, David Horton, Jimmie (Glenda), Horton, and Dr. Stanley Saunders; many special friends, Jennifer Coulter, Alexandra “Alex” Gabbard, Forrest Harrison, Tracy Kiser and Kevin Williams; godparents, Marshall and Sondra Walker; godfather, Rodney Johnson; extended family, Floyd and Brenda Covington, Ballard & Florence Graham, and many cousins near and far.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Susan Morton and Mamie Ann Warfield.

Robby and Shurhonda my sincere condolences. You were extremely blessed to have been given the gift and pleasure of being Sydney's parents . She was such a blessing! Even as a young child she beamed.
