Harold “Cap” Foster was born in Akron, Ohio, and passed away peacefully in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 74, surrounded by love with his wife and daughter by his side.
Cap was known for his sharp humor, legendary trash talk, and unforgettable storytelling. If he roasted you, it meant you were loved. Beneath the jokes was a man with a huge heart who truly believed in second chances. Through his work with the Charlotte Rescue Mission’s Rebound Program, he poured into others, reminding them that their past did not define their future.
He shared a devoted life with his wife and partner, Lisha Barger, and was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest joy. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Johnson, and his beloved daughter, Harlonda “GOGO” Hodges.
A lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, Cap loved a good laugh and loved his people even harder. He had a rare gift for making others feel seen—usually right after cracking a joke.
A memorial service celebrating his life was held on January 31, 2026, at Community Matters Café in Charlotte at 3:00 p.m.
