Ms. Dorothy Mae Halley departed her earthly home unexpectedly on Monday July 21, 2025. Ms. Halley was born to the late Mr. Johnie Halley and Lula Mae Simpson on May 28, 1964 in Great Falls, South Carolina.
Dorothy was baptized at Mount Nebo AME Zion church, located in Richburg South Carolina. She later relocated to Washington, DC where she attended church at Metropolitan AME Zion Church. She loved to play her hymns on Sunday mornings. Dorothy was raised and attended public schools in Great Falls, South Carolina. She continued her education at Clinton Jr. College in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Shaw University. Dorothy held many positions throughout her career, including over 25 years of service to the Aramark Franchise, where she was loved and respected by her coworkers and the inmates she served. Her most recent position was located at the Arlington County Sheriff Department with Aramark as a supervisor. Dorothy met and made many friends along the way. She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. Dorothy loved and cherished her family dearly and held fond memories of them close to her heart. If she met you once, you became her “CUZ”.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved Patrick Robinson, and her brother Robert Simpson III.
Dorothy leaves to cherish fond memories, her two sisters Jennifer Simpson and Martha Simpson, Her uncles; Harry Stevenson, and Talmadge McFadden (Yvette), Bruce Ray, Donald Ray (Cynthia), and her Aunt Creola Solomon and Veronica Ray (Alonzo).
Her special cousins from whom she was raised with, James Robert McMullen, Roger McMullen and Kenny Russell. Dorothy was a loving sister, partner and friend with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, special friends and friends.
