Alberta “Betty” Jones entered into rest on December 18, 2025, at her residence. She retired as a nurse from Hahnemann University Hospital. She was also a member of the International Free and Accepted Modern Masons, Inc. and the Order of the Eastern Star (IFAMM) Chapter 169, where she was honored with the distinguished title Rose of the Seven Seals. Alberta was born on August 2, 1942, to Johnny and Margret Tyler, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her only son, Ray Anthony Warren.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her beloved grandchildren: LaTosha Alexander,
Tajuana Jones, Tiffany Warren Howard, Jabere Washington (Nesha), Dorian Merriweather, and
Alvin Lee; and her precious great-grandchildren: Jabere Washington Jr., Kennedi Freeman,
Gabrielle Freeman, Za’Maree Washington, Kaylee Powell, Jayceon Washington, Aubree Merriweather, and her aunt, Betty Allen. Alberta is also cherished by her bonus children: Deacon Tony (Betty) Howard, Louise Warren, Micheal (Sheila) Hudson, and Deacon Norman (Derbianna) Frank. Alberta’s memory will live on in the hearts of a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
Public viewing and visitation will be held on December 26, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA.
A celebration of life will be held on December 29, 2025, at Beulah Grove Baptist Church at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
