Obituary For Amy L. Butler

Mrs. Amy Lee Butler age 81, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend, was called to her eternal heavenly resting place on October 15, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia. Amy was married to Jerome “Jerry” M. Butler, Sr. for over 50 years. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2023. Amy was born to the late David Robinson Sr. and Louise Vinson Robinson on December 30. 1942. She was a graduate of Lucy C. Laney, class of 1960. Amy was the matriarch of the Vinson-Robinson family. She will be truly missed for her kindness, quick-wit, and joyous spirit. She was a friend and confidante to everyone she met. Amy’s life and legacy will be forever cherished by her daughter, Sonya Lejeune (Michael) Scott of Augusta, GA; son, Jerome M. Butler, Jr. of Chester, VA; grandchildren, April Griffin-Walker; Michel Chamberlain both of Augusta, GA; Brittney (Jamey) Gooding of Charlotte, NC; Jerome Butler III, and Jaylen J. Butler of Spring, TX; great grandchildren, Aleeya Allen, Briley Gooding, Luka Gooding of Charlotte, NC; Kelli Chamberlain, Crishaun Stevenson of Augusta, GA; brother Forrest Daniel (Melinda) Robinson of Augusta, GA; sisters Vivian Young of Port St. Lucie, FL; Valery Grant of Grovetown, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at Community Bible Fellowship, 2011 Randall Road, Augusta, GA. Interment will follow in Walker Memorial Park.
