Anne “Louis” Robinson Hampton transitioned to her heavenly home on June 3, 2024. She was born May25, 1939, in Jefferson County to the late Johnnie and Annie Maude Robinson, Louis was baptized at Stone Springfield AME at an early age. She attended school in the Richmond County school system and lived in Gracewood, Ga. She gained her certifications as a Respiratory Therapist and a Nursing Assistant through Talmadge Hospital (aka MCG) where she was employed until retirement.
She later returned to work at Jennings Nursing Home and retired from there in 2007. She worked hard and played hard. She enjoyed life; taking every opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. She said what she meant and meant what she said but was always willing to lend a hand. She was blessed with two devoted children: Sandra Victoria Lawson Knight and Oscar Alan Reed. She carried and supported them in their youth and they likewise loved, cherished and supported her in her senior years.
Louis was united in matrimony to the late Larry Dale Hampton for 27 years. She was also preceded in death by her brother; Gardner Robinson and sister; Johnnie Maude Pride.
On June 3rd she left this earthly tabernacle and quietly slipped away to enter her heavenly home. She leaves to mourn her departure; Two children; Sandra Knight and Oscar Reed, One daughter-in-law; Sandra Reed. One sister: Jean “Jewel” White (Alvin); Three grandchildren: Antonio Oson Reed, Antwuan Smyre (Sabrina), and Miles Murdaugh (Nicole); Ten great-grandchildren: Briaunna Smyre, Maisie Murdaugh, Brittani Smyre, Rylee Olson, Amira Reed, Antwuan Smyre, Jr., Chrissy Howard, McKenzie Murdaugh, Kaitlyn Smyre and Ava Smyre; One nephew: Kevin Pride; Five nieces: Althea Burns, Gloria (Ricky) Mays, Gardenia (Christopher)Dunbar, Shante (William) Robinson-Hooks, Kimberly (Teaco) Gowdy and a host of cousins and friends. Two special friends: Elenora Darby Divine and Marva Marks.
A Celebration of Life will be 12 noon, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Stone Spring Field AME, 7476 GA-296 Stapleton, Ga. The family will receive friends Monday, June 10th, from 4pm to 6 pm, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
