My fondness memory of Charles is as an elementary student at our grandparents home on Spruce Street. Charles would make one of his rare visits as a high school football player. He would flex his muscles and let me use it to swing from. I have seen throughout the years him being that strength and hero for his family and friends. The world will miss your heroic presence. Your cousin Debby
Dear Barbara and Aretha,
I am so sorry to hear of Charles passing. We all grew up together ❤️ and played together on Maxwell Street and Anderson Avenue. Charles stopped by my grandmother's house some years ago and I was there and was so glad to see him. He was still living in Tennessee at the time.
Please accept my condolences and know that I love all of you.

Charles Clark was my friend, my best friend, for a large portion of my life. I am now 72, and when I was 12 he started walking me home from Walker Elementary School.
Ever since then, we habitually told each other everything that we could not tell parents or other friends. We. Talked. And Talked. And Talked. Tying up our families' old landline phones. I loved him greatly for this.
Right up until a few weeks before his death, we continued discussing how events in our youth shaped us into the adults we became. Some of the memories were pleasant; some were unpleasant. Sometimes we argued, though not often, and at all times, we maintained an uncommon bond and respect for one another, ending our conversations with "Love you."
Because he is no longer physically present, I will never again be exactly the same person I was. I will be not only different, but better, for having had him here on Earth.
Charles, I will see you later. Be ready to talk some more.

Mr Clark was an amazing person and beloved father. I'm glad I got to know him as my son's father-in-law, and as my brother in Christ. He will be missed by many, but he has left a legacy of cherished memories. Find peace in knowing that Mr Clark is assured of Eternal Life. Clark family, I will always keep you in my prayers. Sincere Condolences, Dr Christine Rodgers and husband James
