Obituary For Charles E. Brown

Charles Eugene Brown, known by family as "Chuck" and by close friends as "Chucky,” “Shady Grady,” and “Chuque Luv" was a charismatic son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and father. He transitioned from this life on August 26, 2026. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Earnestine Brown McFarland and Wallace J. McFarland. He was born on April 16, 1980, in Florence, South Carolina. Chuck had a sense of humor and was known as a smooth-talker. Friends described him as loyal, supportive, and a good neighborhood watcher. He enjoyed fishing, reading, volunteering, and history.
Chuck attended Butler High School and Augusta Technical College. He graduated from Augusta Technical College on May 2, 2013. Chuck received professional certificates as an Electrician. Professionally, he worked as an Electrician in Georgia and the surrounding areas of the Carolinas. Chuck loved his Masonic Brothers, the NAACP, The Phylaxis Society for Prince Hall freemason, Shriners, and members of other organizations to which he belonged.
He missed and loved his aunt, Ella Marie Mabray and his sister-cousin, Robyn Lucas, who preceded him in death.
Chuck is survived by his daughter, La'Asia Brown; sister, Crystal M. Brown; uncle, Richard Mabray; aunt, Peggy Brown; brother-sister-cousins, Alma Lucas, Stacey Mabray, Tanya Grice and husband Joel “Jay” Grice, Latasha and James Tate, Malik and Shayla Bussey, Ja'via Grice, Jaisha Grice, Mekai Bussey, and a host of family and friends.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am, Friday, September 18, 2026, at Jenkins Memorial CME Church, 4218 Windsor Spring Road, Hephzibah, GA.
