Obituary For Clara L. Lovett

Ms. Clara Lee Lovett, 83, entered into rest, Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Watkinsville, GA. She was born on October 7, 1940, in Burke County, Georgia to the late Lester Lovett and Charlotte Wimberly Lovett. Clara received her formal education in Burke County School district.

In 1959, Clara moved to Trenton, New Jersey. There, she worked for the Trenton Public School District for more than thirty-five years before retiring in 2006. While in Trenton, Clara faithfully attended Jerusalem Baptist Church where she served as a member of the choir.

In 2007, Clara returned to Augusta, Georgia, and united with the Morning Star Baptist Church, where she worshipped and served the Lord with gladness as an usher. She maintained her residency in Augusta until her passing.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Butler, and siblings, Izell Lovett, Mattie Brown, Alice Mae Lovett, and Louise Lewis.

Precious memories of her life will be cherished forever by all who knew her and loved her dearly including her children, Thomas Butler, David Butler, Robin Butler, and Joyce Butler; grandchildren, Markese Humphrey, Tyeisha Butler, Jamaal Rowe, Kendra Knox, Damyra Williams, Michael Butler, Willie Harris, Asia Williams, Asata Johnson, Yahwey Styles; great-grandchildren, Amaya Brown, Miles Humphrey, Ja’Sani Rowe, Ja’Saan Rowe, Jay’Vion Rowe, Ja’Yaan Hairston-Rowe, Jaz’Mynn Hairston-Rowe, Zionna Thomas, Zakir Lovette, Zariah Knox, Za’mir Knox, Zamya Knox, Zanya Knox, Zahira Knox, ZyNiyah Thompson, Zayvion Formen, Miracle Butler, Weston Harris, Jayden Davis, Jordan Zondo, Joel Zondo, Ava Zondo; siblings, Juanita Roberson, Marian Monroe, Rosie Lovett, Bernice Lovett, Eva Mae Lovett, Leston Lovett, Donald Lee Lovett as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.

A public viewing will be held from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home (3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA. 30906.) The family is requesting no floral contributions.

A final celebration of life in honor of Ms. Clara Lovett will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Jerusalem Baptist Church (150 North Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08609.) Interment will follow in Ewing Cemetery.
