Obituary For Cleo Scott, Jr.

Cleo Scott Jr was born to the late Cleo Scott Sr. and Susan Scott on February 7, 1970, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He entered into his resting place on July 1, 2025, at Burke Health.

Cleo was a native of Waynesboro, Georgia, where he attended Burke County Public School. He later earned his GED. He retired from the Burke County Road Department.

In 1987, he found the love of his life, Joyce Scott and they later united in Holy Matrimony on July 9, 1999. To that union, they were blessed with two children.

He worked for Burke County Road Department for 11 years. He also worked with Fluor Daniel Construction where he did construction and concrete finishing.

At an early age he was baptized at Fairfield Baptist Church. He later joined Franklin Covenant Baptist Church.

Cleo loved watching First 48, Judge Mathis, and listening to Nephew Tommy pranks. But most of all he enjoyed being in his mancave and watching his grandkids “Papa babies”. Cleo was a family man and kept everyone laughing.

In addition to his parents, Cleo was preceded in death by his brother Gary Scott; sister n law Calandra Scott; grandparents Alfonie and Mae Della Scott.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife Joyce Scott of 38 years, his children, Cleo (Sanetra) Scott III, Joe (Toni) Green Jr., Emonisha (Dedric) Simmons, and Charmaine (Floyd Jr.) Haynes; fifteen grandchildren, Marvin III, Khylan, Joe III, Floyd III, Jeremiah, Malcolm,Amani, Aubrielle, Melodi, Madisyn, Makinslee, Jalania, Ny’Asia, Jada, and Danielle; one great grandchild Ja’Kail; three brothers, Diandre (Francheska) Scott, Frederick Scott, Gabriel Scott; three sisters, Melissa Scott, Ciara Scott, ShaCoya Bell. A special friend Harvey Dixon.

And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends who loved him dearly and will miss him even more.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Franklin Convenant Baptist Church, Hephzibah, GA.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
