Obituary For Deacon James V. Key, Sr.
Deacon James Victor Key, Sr., 87, entered into rest, Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Doctors Hospital. He was a member of the Old Storm Branch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He retired from New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority as a city bus driver and Augusta National as a chauffeur.
Deacon Key's legacy will be cherished by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Mrs. Rosia L. Key; son, James V. (Altina) Key, Jr.; daughter, Tamara Key; niece, Sheryl Key; nephews, Michael Key and Timothy (Karen) Key; a host of cousins, the Old Storm Branch Baptist Church family, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, July 28, 2023, at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church (163 Storm Branch Road, Beech Island, SC.), with Rev. Martris Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA. (706) 790-8858.
