Demetria LaToya “Meechie” Blount entered the world on October 30, 1982, a cherished blessing and answer to prayer for her parents, Mr. Willard Blount and Mrs. Victoria Brunson Blount. On April 30, 2026, she answered the Master’s call, transitioning from her earthly journey into the loving arms of our Savior.
Her beauty, grace, and compassion touched all who knew her. Following graduation at the age of 17, Demetria proudly answered the call to serve her country in the United States Marine Corps from 2000 to 2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom, demonstrating her strength, courage, and unwavering commitment to others.
She became a business owner and Licensed Massage Therapist, dedicating her life to holistic wellness and the care of others. Through her work, she created spaces of peace, restoration, and renewal, touching countless lives with her gift of healing.
In 2023, she faced a significant health challenge that affected her ability to walk. Yet, through unwavering faith, resilience, and determination, she persevered. After years of fighting, her health improved, and earlier this year, she celebrated her victory by participating in a 5K walk—an inspiring milestone that reflected her strength and refusal to give up.
Demetria recently resumed her work in holistic health and was preparing to reopen her practice alongside her business partner, with a grand opening scheduled for May 2, 2026. Though her plans were full of promise and purpose, her life was tragically cut short just days before this new chapter could fully unfold.
Demetria was a resilient woman who lived her life to the fullest traveling the world, spreading her unique joy and happiness, and encouraging others to remain faithful. She lived with intention, poured love into those around her, and uplifted everyone she encountered. Her life stands as a powerful testament to resilience, purpose, and the enduring power of faith.
Her legacy of love, strength, and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Nathaniel Blount.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted parents, Willard and Victoria Blount. Demetria was a loving aunt to Alandia Victoria Blount and a proud great-aunt to Amariah Rose Lee, affectionately known as her “tiny mini-me.” Her cousin, Samantha Precious Brown, held a sister-like bond with her. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Jay, Amari, and Cheyenne; her aunts, Sandra, Vianna, and Robbiesteen; her uncles, Lloyd Clifford and Tony; her first cousins, Stephen, Sandra, Joseph, Carla, Rhonda, Christopher, John, Fleming, Tyeshae, Jessica, Latasha, Lloyd-Christian, and Ariana; along with a host of cherished extended family members and dear friends, including Cornelius Warren, her former spouse. Demetria was, and remains, a light that even her passing cannot dim

Sending prayers of comfort, peace and strength at this difficult time to the entire Blount family..
Demetria was a one of a kind beacon of light. She will be missed dearly yet the time she shared will last forever.
Ms. Victoria & Blount Family: My deepest condolences and may the Lord strengthen you for the days ahead. Demetria's happy spirit will be missed in the choir and at the church.
I got to know Demetria when she fixed a booboo that the doctors couldn't. She later gave relief to my mom when she was sick with cancer. In every situation, I never ceased to be amazed by the depth of her knowledge, her diligence and her intuitive approach to situations, but even more by the beauty of spirit that she communicated through her hands, her smile, and her laugh--oh how we laughed! I will miss they joy she radiated.
I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Demetria Blount.
Demetria was my student during the 1998–1999 school year, and even then, she stood out as a wonderful young lady—always respectful, kind, and a joy to teach. Years later, about eight years ago, we reconnected in a workout class at Gold's Gym. It was such a pleasure to see that she was still the same gracious and respectful person I remembered.
She shared her interest in bodybuilding, and while I expressed that I wasn't looking to pursue bodybuilding myself but simply wanted to add definition to my frame, she encouraged me with the same kindness and positivity she always had. That moment stayed with me.
I was truly saddened and shocked to learn of her passing. The world has lost an incredible soul. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. May her beautiful spirit rest in peace, and may you find comfort in the memories she leaves behind. With deepest sympathy,
Daret Cannonier
