Obituary For Doris O. Thomas

Doris Thomas was born on September 29, 1951, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Thomas and
Zola Mae Parker. At an early age, she was baptized at Thankful Baptist Church in Blythe, Georgia, where she later served on the Usher Board.

Doris attended school in Richmond County and later studied cosmetology at Augusta Technical College. She was a successful entrepreneur and the proud owner of Hephzibah Beauty World Hair Salon in Hephzibah, Georgia, where she worked and served her community for twenty years. Doris worked and retired from Gracewood State School and Hospital after thirty years of service. While working for Gracewood, she cared deeply for her patients. Her compassion extended beyond the walls of the Gracewood community as she formed meaningful personal connections and spent quality time with those she served.

Doris loved gardening, visiting yard and estate sales, and fishing. Her greatest joy was spending
time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil and connect with.

Doris entered into rest on Monday, September 7, 2026. She leaves to cherish her memory: devoted life partner, Kenneth Williams, Hephzibah, Ga;
children, Ray (Keisha) Thomas, Hephzibah Ga, Artis Thomas, Atlanta, Ga, Philmon (Sonia)
Thomas, Conyers, Ga., Robert Thomas (preceded in death); Tracey Williams, Sonya Atwell,
Jennifer Williams, Kendra Williams; her brother, Anthony (Joyce) Parker, Augusta, Ga.; several
brothers and sisters that preceded her in death; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family will receive friends Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, 3860 Parwood Rd, Blythe, GA 30805.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
