Elizabeth Crittenden, 88, entered into rest November 16, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia. She was a member of Windsor Spring Baptist Church and retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Education. She graduated from Lucy Craft Laney High School.
She has reunited with her husband James Albert Crittenden Jr., their grandson, Christopher James Crittenden, her parents, Dozier Hampton and Larcenia Ellison Hampton, her siblings, Gloria Jean Hampton, David Hampton, Robert Hampton, and a host of cherished family members and friends. Her legacy will be cherished by her two sisters, Mattie (Charlie) Whitfield and Ruth (George) Hester, her sister-in-laws Vivian (David) Hampton and JoAnn (Robert) Hampton, Janet Coleman, Edith Ann McGowan-Flanning, her children James (Kimberly) Crittenden III, Faith Crittenden, and Rebecca Freeman, her grandchildren, Paul Crittenden, Chanelle Crittenden, Alyssia Crittenden, Jadyn Freeman, Josiah Freeman, Tyson Crittenden and Kadyn Reed, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A celebration of life will begin with a viewing on Friday, November 28th, from 4p.m. to 6p.m. at Kinsey and Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA, succeeded by a memorial service and repast on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Windsor Spring Baptist Church, 3692 Windsor Spring Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815.
