Obituary For Ezra T. Hampton, Jr.
With heavy hearts, the family of Ezra Thomas Hampton Jr., age 76, of Hephzibah, Georgia, shares the news of his peaceful passing on June 9, 2026. Born on March 7, 1950, Ezra was a steady source of love, wisdom, and guidance to all who knew him. His presence touched countless lives, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Ezra is survived by his devoted wife, Hermena Hampton, and his nine children: Eric Hampton, Lamar Copeland, Dwight Copeland, Erica Trimier, Ezra Hampton III, Quinyatta Hampton, Kenyatta Hampton, Perie Hampton, and Peru Hampton.
He is also survived by his seven siblings: Paul Hampton, Elnita Hunter, Bernadetta Palmer, Kenneth Hampton, Teressa Dimingo, and Thommie Hampton.
Ezra’s love for his grandchildren, friends, and extended family was a cornerstone of his life, and his memory will continue to inspire and unite all who knew him.
The family deeply appreciates every expression of kindness, comfort, and support as they navigate this season of grief.
Visitation will be June 18 , 2026 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the funeral home.
Celebration of Life 12 noon, June 19, 2026, at Kinsey & Walton Chapel. Interment will follow June 25, 2026, at Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road, Elgin, Oklahoma 75358

My uncle was the kind of person who brought warmth into every room he walked in, he was the perfect blond of strength, love & kindness. He always had a way of making me feel seen & loved, no matter how much time had passed since I've last saw him. I will forever cherish every checkup call & moments spent. Love you uncle
Uncle Ezra will be highly missed. He was always a kind and loving person. Best memories I will have of him is those deep conversations, I always admire his intelligence and his empathy for people.
Ezra was a kind, humble gentleman, always smiling, always cheerful. I thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to our conversations after Sunday Mass at Most Holy Trinity. He taught me so much. My heart and prayers are with you.

Thank you for giving me a stern talking to when I needed it, and following up with love and affirmation. Thank you for being a great example of a strong and hard working man. You were truly a standup guy who went above and beyond for your loved ones. I'm truly grateful to have known you. I pray that you continue to watch over us all. Love you so much, rest in paradise...

My neighborhood just lost a great neighbor and friend. He was my neighbor across the street and I could always talk and convey with him. He retired from the Army as Assistant Army Signal Band Leader. Worked over 20 years with the Richmond County Sheriff Deputy. Always available for assistance to his neighbors. His wife the sweetest Lady Hermana was always involved with her neighbors and never once asking how I and my wife were doing whenever we saw each other. Mr Hampton and I would always converse whenever we saw each other. Sometimes I think God takes the wrong people. I. E. Meaning there are people that connects people rather than disrupting.
I will miss him. He has been a great friend. There are few that I have traversed in my 71 years of life I can say I hold to that degree.
