Obituary For Freddy L. Lyons

Freddy Lyons Sr. was born in Ft. Lauderdale FL on Aug 12,1952 to the late Florence D. Lyons and James Lyons. Freddy was united in marriage to the late Esther OneNation in 1979, and from that union two children were born (Freddy Lyons Jr. and LaShanda Lyons).

Freddy dedicated his life to GOD and helping in his community. Freddy served in the military for almost 22 years, traveling the world and serving his country. He was stationed at Fort Gordon, Germany (multiple bases), Fort Stewart before he retired. After leaving the military he worked in Ft. Lauderdale at the Parks and Recreation as well as in the Broward County jail helping kids get their diploma or GED. He was truly a man of service. In his last years he spent time making memories with his family putting a smile on his children faces. The bonds he built will never be broken and the love he gave will always be cherished.

Those left behind to cherish memories of Freddy are his children Freddy Lyons Jr. and LaShanda Lyons; grandson Kingston M. Lyons; brothers and sisters, James Lyons (Elaine), Patricia Green (Nathaniel), Wayne Lyons (Ann), Leslie Miller (Walter), in laws Florence Glass, Rosa Glass (Joe), Beatrice Petty (Gary), Sandra Coleman, Sarah Barely, Alvin Coleman (Veronica) and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Kinsey & Walton Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
