Gloria Jeane Anderson, a native of Augusta, Georgia, was born on May 22, 1947, to Ruby Mae Frazier. She attended Hastings High School and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 649 in Augusta, GA.
On April 4, 1969, Gloria married Paul Anderson, the love of her life. They shared 56 wonderful years together, a life rich in faith, joy, and a continuing devotion to family and loved ones. From their union, three children were born.
Gloria found joy in the simple, everyday blessings of life. Her spiritual journey began early when she joined the Lord’s Temple in Hastings, Florida. And, later in life, united with Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia, where she remained a faithful servant. She had a special love for her church, enjoyed the game of tennis, and looked forward to enjoyable rounds of bingo. Whether lifting her voice in worship on Sunday morning or cheering on her favorite tennis player, Gloria lived each day with energy and passion. Her kindness, wisdom, and commitment to others left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
