Heaven Sent April 6, 1994 – Heaven Called October 8, 2026
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8
With heavy hearts and profound love, we celebrate the beautiful life and precious memories of LaVeronica Dwyanna Twiggs, who departed this earthly life on October 8, 2026, at the age of 32. Although her time here on earth was far too short, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
LaVeronica was born on April 6, 1994, to Dwyne and Tressa Twiggs. She was their youngest daughter, bringing her own special light, love, and joy into the family. As the baby girl, she held a special place in the hearts of her loved ones. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will forever be treasured.
LaVeronica received her education in the Burke County School System and proudly graduated from Burke County High School in 2012. Following graduation, she continued her educational journey at Augusta University, where she pursued studies in nursing. Her desire to enter the nursing profession reflected her caring spirit and her passion for helping others.
At an early age, LaVeronica accepted Christ and became a member of Brown Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Clary Dishmond Jr. As she continued her spiritual journey, she later joined Walk By Faith Ministries of Augusta, Inc., under the leadership of Apostle John Colbert. Her Christian foundation was an important part of her life.
In 2012, LaVeronica was proudly crowned Miss Keysville, an honor that became a special part of her life’s journey. Her connection to the community of Keysville, Georgia, extended beyond this memorable achievement. She also worked for the City of Keysville, where she had the opportunity to serve the community that was part of her roots. Being crowned Miss Keysville and working for the city were meaningful chapters in her life and will forever be remembered with pride by her family.
LaVeronica had a special place in her heart for children. Her love for kids was a beautiful reflection of her nurturing, compassionate, and loving nature. She had a heart that made room for others, and the love she gave will never be forgotten. She turned that love into something meaningful by establishing her very own daycare, “Hold My Mule.” With her unforgettable saying, “Bring diapers and wipes, food will be supplied,” LaVeronica made it known that every child in her care would be loved, welcomed, and fed.
LaVeronica was also known for her unforgettable personality, her sense of humor, and the special way she could make her family laugh. One memory her family will always cherish is the saying she would often share with her daddy, Dwyne:
“Keep on, you know you got to get old. You’ll be in the Easy Rest Retirement Home, where living is an option!”
Those words were so uniquely Wanna. What may have seemed like a simple joke between a daughter and her daddy has now become a priceless memory. Her family will forever hear her voice saying those words, remembering her humor, her laughter, and the special bond she shared with her father. These are the little moments that become the biggest treasures when someone we love is no longer here.
LaVeronica was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Veronica Scott, great grandmother Leolia Scott; her paternal grandmother, Gloria Lucky; and her beloved aunt and uncles.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving parents, Dwyne and Tressa Twiggs; two sisters, Shantrice Scott and Octavia Twiggs; five brothers, Marquise Scott, Kendrick Tindal, Favian James, Dontrell Twiggs and Jonathan (Amber) Tanksley; her maternal grandfather, Willie James Scott of Keysville, Georgia; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though our hearts are broken and our eyes are filled with tears, we find comfort in knowing that love does not end with death. LaVeronica’s life was a gift, her memory is a treasure, and the bond she shared with her family will never be broken.
We will miss her smile, her presence, her laughter, her jokes, and all the little things that made her who she was. There will forever be an empty space in our family that no one else can fill, but we will carry her with us in every memory, every family gathering, and every moment of love we share.
LaVeronica, you are gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Your story does not end here, because your love will continue to live through each of us.
The family will receive friends Friday the 16th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Brown Grove Baptist Church, 205 Old Augusta Road, Blythe, Ga.
