Mrs. Linda Thomas Mann was born Monday, January 7, 1957, in Augusta, GA., to the late Mr. John Edward Thomas, Sr. and Mrs. Louethal Jones Thomas of Hephzibah, GA. On Saturday, September 28, 2024, at her home in Hephzibah, GA., God called Linda home to be with him.
At an early age, Linda was baptise at First Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hephzibah, GA., where she served faithfully. Later she moved her membership to Thankful Missionary Baptist Church of Blythe, GA., serving for 15 years.
The Lord called Linda back home to Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church (HFEBC). Linda served in the Missionary, Out-Reach, and Decoration Ministries. For the last ten plus years, Linda was HFEBC’s Music Ministry President. She was also a member of the Sanctuary, Senior and J.D. Williams choirs. Linda also sang with Adult Praise Team and directed the Youth Choir and HFEBC Summer Spectacular Camp Music. Working with toddlers was her calling and she answered that being the toddler teacher for HFEBC Summer Spectacular Camp. She was a praying woman and a believer in His Word. Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Linda was an alumna of Hephzibah High School Class of ’75. She continued her education by attending Atlanta Job Corp for the nursing program 77-78.
At an early age Linda was employed by Blimpie Subs and Wifesaver Chicken and was team leader of both stores. After several years, she transitioned to RCBOE and served as a school nutritionist for over 20 years.
To know Linda, you know she loves her grandchildren; they were her world, and she let the world know. No matter what they needed or wanted, she always made sure she did her best in supporting them.
Linda had a heart of gold. If you needed her to decorate she did it with no hesitation, fee, and with a caring heart. Making others smile, by giving and doing for them was her way of showing love. Her siblings meant everything to her. She would always tell of their childhood stories about growing up in such a large loving family. At the end of the story, she would have the biggest smile.
Linda loved flowers, which is a hobby that traveled down from her loving mother and sisters. She enjoyed making floral arrangements for others. She was a die-hard GA Bulldog fan. Watching sports and talking a lot of smack about her team win or lose was one of her favorite pastimes.
Most of all she loved singing and music. Playing the piano was her favorite hobby in her spare time. Her voice was so angelic.
Preceding Linda in death were her parents, John E. Thomas, Sr. and Lula Jones Thomas, sister, Gloria Thomas Dunn and baby brother, Gregory Thomas Sr.
Linda leaves her loving memories to her loving and devoted husband, Larry Mann; Sheretta (Calvin) Lynch and son, Brandon Styles of Hephzibah, GA. and Charlotte (Johnny) Brown of Albany, GA. Linda loved and enjoy spending time with her nine grandchildren; Michael Thomas, Shalatheia Thomas, Charlie Brown, Samiah Thompkins, Kielor Styles, Sceon Wilkes, Kenmorah Styles, Alani Wilkes, and Acacia Styles. Great-grand, son, Kayson Thompkins. Also cherishing her memories are 17 siblings; Jeanette (Robert) Walker, John (Danette) Thomas, Jr., Joyce Ann (Vittirio) Washington, Elaine (Curtis) Lewis, Charles (Antionette) Thomas, George Thomas, Willie James (Tonya) Thomas, Eleanor Thomas, Jeffery Thomas, Ernest (Jeanie) Thomas, Karlene (Gerald) Wright, Lenora Germany, Tony Thomas, Rhonda (Willie) Holland, Jacqueline (Darrum) Lewis, and Shannon (Howard) Combs, a host of martial in-laws, nephews, nieces, and best friends Lily Jones, Jessica Davis (Vicky) and Magdalene (Dot) Nelson.
