Madelyn “Scott Momma” Scott was born October 28th, 1959, to the late Robert Lee Williams, Sr. and Mattie H. Williams. She was the oldest of four children born to this union. She entered her eternal rest on October 20th, 2024. She is preceded in death by her father and brother, Robert “Cool Poppa” Williams, Jr.
At an early age she joined the family church, Summerville Missionary Baptist Church where she was a very faithful member until her health declined. She was a member of the J. W. Barns Gospel Choir.
Madelyn was a graduate of the class of 1978 from George P. Butler High School in Augusta, GA. She attended Augusta Technical College where she studied medical coding. She also spent many years working as a bank teller, however her greatest joy was caring for her mother and her first grandchild. She really loved the Lord and spending time with her family. Some of her hobbies included shopping, going out to eat, and just being the BEST mom to her “Jr. and Fred.”
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Floyd (KaSheena) Scott Jr. of Augusta, GA and Fredrick Scott of Atlanta, GA; a loving mother, Mattie Williams of Augusta, GA; four grandchildren, Samaria and Saniya Scott of Augusta, GA; Fredrick Scott Jr of Savannah, GA; Lamille Scott of Augusta, GA; two brothers, Randall Williams and Ralph Williams of Augusta, GA; two aunts, Marguerite Jones of Augusta, GA and Maxine McMillian of Orlando, FL; two favorite cousins, Bernardine Campbell of Graniteville, SC and Valerie Foster of Augusta, GA; one best friend, Nattalie Pennyman of Atlanta, GA. She had a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Summerville Missionary Baptist, 2200 Tubman Home Road, Augusta, Pastor Mark Harris, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens, 3666 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, Georgia.
