Mildred -Franco -Collado was born on January 13, 1942, in Santiago, Dominican Republic. At the age of 83, she entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 15, 2025. One of nine children born to Marino Franco and Minerva Altagracia, Mildred grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large, close-knit family whose values shaped her life’s purpose and spirit.
For the better part of her career, Mildred served the Richmond County Board of Education as a dedicated member of the cafeteria staff at Sego Middle School. Her kindness, strong work ethic, and warm smile left an enduring impression on the students and colleagues she served each day.
Mildred embodied the timeless values of a devoted Hispanic matriarch—steadfast in her faith, resilient in spirit, and deeply committed to caring for those she loved. Guided throughout her life by Catholic principles and unwavering devotion, she lived with grace and a quiet strength that inspired everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Michelle Collado, with whom she shared an unbreakable and deeply cherished bond; her brother, Dr. Irving (Arlene) Franco and her nephew, Dennis Muyet.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Thelma Franco and Gladys Franco; two sons, Fausto ( Kim) Collado and Stefan Collado; her grandchildren, Mercedes (Victor) Chandler, Jazmin Collado, Jahida Ware, and Julian Collado; her great-grandchildren, NiyLiese McBride, Amira Chandler, and Mila Chandler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Road, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
On Friday, November 21, 2025, the family will be accepting guests at 3402 Barclay Ct., Hephzibah, GA 30815, beginning at 4 p.m.
