Obituary For Moses Honore

Moses Honore was born in 1941 in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to John and Mildred
Honore. However, it was his aunt, Marie Joseph, who raised him from infancy to young adulthood in the rustic countryside community of Matura, where daily chores and structure were the way of a modest life. After primary school, Moses pursued his passion for woodworking, learning from a local master. He became a sought-after craftsman, using his talent to rise from humble beginnings and pursue greater goals.

In 1962, Moses welcomed his firstborn, Christopher. In 1967, he married Joan Herry; together, they had Steve, Cheryl, and Sean. The family migrated to NYC, then to Boston, where Moses worked for decades at the prestigious Charles Webb Furniture Company.
In the early 1970s, Moses and Joan bought their first home, a triple-decker in Dorchester, Massachusetts, which became a stepping stone for family members migrating to America. Shortly after that purchase, they acquired a single-family home in Hyde Park. Moses was a visionary, unafraid to take risks to achieve his goals. “Tomorrow, please God,” he would often say. If you had a goal, Moses was always willing to help, keeping his home open to family and friends needing support.

Additionally, he was proud of his American journey and citizenship, and he was steadfast in ensuring that his vote was counted. Moses was a workaholic, working tirelessly from sunup to sundown. He showed love through
acts of service, sharing his skills with many. A master craftsman and jack-of-all-trades, he approached each task with pride and precision. He was gifted, dedicated, and loved his craft. He was, Ah Boss.

In 1991, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit, Moses moved his family to Georgia and eventually opened M Furniture Clinic in downtown Augusta, Georgia, continuing his legacy of craftsmanship. In his later years, Moses was deeply loved and lived his final days at home,
where his wife, Joan, and daughter, Cheryl, provided unwavering, dedicated care, allowing him to remain in the comfort of home until he passed away at age 84.

He will be greatly missed and admired. Moses Honore’s legacy will be cherished by his spouse, Joan Honore; children, Christopher Honore, Steve Honore, Cheryl H. Nwankwo (Grant), Sean Honore; and siblings, Kathleen
Weeks, Helen Vidale-James; grandchildren, Mekhi Honore, Jamal Honore, Jaden Honore, and Maya H. Nwankwo; a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws in Trinidad and the United States; as well as devoted friends and neighbors, Jimmy (Jam) Villaroel, Lafayette Williams, and Stephen Coker.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mildred Honore; aunt, Marie Joseph; siblings, Nerissa Bates, Edward Honore, Richard Honore, Lewis Honore, Naomi Honore, and Phillip Honore.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Georgia.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 12:00pm until 1:45pm at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Mr. Honore will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 2:00pm, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home.
