Reverend Howard D. Harden, a cherished husband to Shirley A. Harden, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, peacefully transitioned on March 12, 2026.
Reverend Harden was a devoted servant of God, a faithful pastor, and a pillar of both his family and his church communities. His life reflected unwavering faith, compassionate leadership, and a deep commitment to shepherding and uplifting those he was called to serve. Through his ministry, he touched countless lives with wisdom, encouragement, and spiritual guidance, leaving a lasting imprint on every congregation he led.
Beyond the pulpit, he was a loving family man whose strength, kindness, and steady presence brought comfort and inspiration to those closest to him. He leaves behind a rich legacy of faith, love, and service that will continue to guide and inspire generations to come.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, teachings, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and church family.
Public viewing will be from 2 pm until 5 pm, Thursday, March 19, 2026, at funeral home.
A celebration of life will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 20, 2026, at Spring Grove Baptist Church, 5184 Farmers Bridge Rd Hephzibah, GA 30815.

I first met Pastor Harden when he served as pastor of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. Praying for First Lady Shirley and family.
We were saddened to hear of the death of Pastor Howard Hardin, we know this is a difficult time for you and the member of Spring Grove Baptist Church. Words are inadequate at a time like this. I was Howard Harden's great niece. I always called him Uncle David. He was always there when I needed someone to talk too and whenever I needed help. My sincere condolences to my Auntie Shirley in her time of sorrow. I know that many people loved him, including myself. But, the Lord loved him best.
