Mr. Robert H. Mobley, known to many as “Bob”, was born January 26, 1934. A loving father, grandfather, brother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in, Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center in Augusta, GA. on October 29, 2024, while surrounded by his family.
Raised in Newark, NJ, Bob received his Bachelor’s degree, in sociology, from Seton Hall University, and later received his Master’s degree, in school administration, from Kean University. A retired educator/middle school vice principal, for over 30 years, in the Newark public school system, he touched the lives of many with his tireless work, advocating for education and civic rights. Behind the scenes, for many years, Bob was an actor in community theater. He performed with the Pushcart Players of Verona, NJ and the Studio Players of Montclair, NJ.
Robert Mobley leaves behind his loving daughter, one sister, one brother, grandchildren and a host of family and friends, who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him. His impact on our hearts and lives will never be forgotten.
Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park, 2601-Wheeler Road, Augusta.
Bob, you were a major inspiration and force in founding of Pushcart Players 50 years ago. What a joy to plan and perform with you for young audiences in schools! Your legacy lives on May your memory be a blessing!
You were a great VP and Camden Middle. Yoir sense of warmth always made you seem like a family member rather than a school administrator. May you rest in peace 🌹🌹🌹

When my family moved from Chester S.C. , to Newark N.J. Mr. Mobley was my 7th grade teacher. He really helped me make the adjustment to a new city And new friends. I and the Young family appreciated him as a teacher and a person
