Thelma Wooden Smith, 92, of Augusta, GA passed away December 24, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1932, to Mrs. Robert Lee Hightower Wooden and Mr. Aradus Wooden.
She leaves behind her daughters Bernice Aradus Dunn; Melinda (Horace) Smith-Grant; and Helen LaJune Smith all of Augusta; eleven grandchildren: Senita (James) Jackson, Hephzibah, GA; Conswella Yarbray, Columbia, SC; Carla Smith, Grovetown, GA; notable grandson Carlos DeMario Smith, Grovetown, GA; Sidney (Jessica) Danner, Midland, MI; Angel Dunn, Augusta, GA; DeVon (Ebony) Smith, Evans, GA; Micah (Diana) Rouse, Martinez, GA; Michelle Smith, Grovetown, GA; Cedric Smith, Hephzibah, GA; Melissa Smith, Atlanta, GA; twenty two great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, one uncle, Herman (Minnie) Hightower, Triangle, Virginia; one aunt, Louise Vera Hightower Hayes, Augusta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister Essie Lee Wooden and son Henry Lee Smith.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Kinsey & Walton Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
