Tim Ray Allen

TIM RAY ALLEN was born September 30, 1958 to the late Mary and Lindsey Allen. He was the youngest of 4 sons born of this union. Tim entered into rest on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Wellstar Medical College of Georgia Health Medical Center.
Tim matriculated through the Richmond County System and attended Josey High School. After finishing school, he worked as a school custodian throughout Richmond County. In 2019, Tim retired with over 40 years of service from the Richmond County Board of Education. Since retiring, he has worked at G&C Cleaning Service.
Tim accepted Christ at a young age and was a loyal member of 1st Mt Moriah Baptist Church. He served faithfully as a choir member in both the men’s choir and the mass choir. He also volunteered throughout the church at various functions.
He lived in the same neighborhood for his entire life and was known as a wonderful neighbor and friend. He was a neighbor and a brother to many. If there was anything he could do to help you, he would.
Tim was also an avid sports fan and would always update his coworkers with the latest sports news. He was also a referee for the Richmond County Parks and Recreation Department and could usually be found wearing his Atlanta Braves cap.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lindsey and Mary Allen and his brothers Willie Warren (Ora) and Joe Lewis Allen. He is survived by his brother William (the late Annie) Allen of Hephzibah, GA; his aunt, Minnie Jackson of Baltimore, MD; his sister-in-law Ora Allen of Augusta, GA; God-daughter, Cardashia Harris of Augusta, GA; nieces, DeMetrice Allen of Augusta, GA, Trina Allen, MD of Hillsborough, NC; nephews, Lt. Col. W. Tyrone (Patrice) Allen, Army, Retired, of Norfolk, VA, Lt. Col. Michael (Valarie) Allen, Marines, Retired, of Oceanside, CA; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and sorrowing friends.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at First Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 2040 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Augusta, Georgia.
Viewing will be prior to service at the church from 2:30-3:00 p.m.
Interment will be in Southview Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tim when I started working at Windsor Spring Elementary. He was a kind soul and will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family as you navigate through this difficult time.
I send my most sincere condolences to the Allen family. Tim was a well respected member of T. W. Josey's athletic training staff. He was an integral part of our 1978 basketball championship team. He was the most selfless person you would ever meet. Always willing to do anything to help the team win. For that Tim was truly a winner. We will miss you Tim. May you rest in peace.
