This is the story of a beautiful, stylish compassionate, hard-working, and dedicated phenomenal woman who lived life phenomenally. She was undeterred by boundaries, unlocked challenging opportunities through her drive, determination, and willingness to learn. She touched many lives throughout her seventy – eight years, leaving us all with fond memories, words of wisdom, glimpses of fashion, an amazing thousand “kilowatt” smile, tangible trinkets, and lots of love. Whether you knew her as “Queen”, “Ms. Willie”, “Norman”, “Willie Mae”, “W.M.C. Norman”, “Sister”, “Classmate”, “Coach”, “PTA President of Davidson Fine Art Magnet School”, “Mommy”, “Grand Mommy”, or “Friend”; just know that you crossed paths with a special gem who loved hard and gave it her all until the end. Ms. Willie Mae Corely Norman departed from this life on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia (Piedmont Hospital).

Willie Mae Corley Norman was born in Augusta Georgia on March 25, 1948, to the late Willie (Billy) Corley and Lizzie (Liz) Young Corley. She was the oldest of seven siblings, whom she loved and nurtured along the way. She set the bar for her siblings, showing them with the “willingness to learn”, having a vision, and motivation; nothing could stand in their way to hinder their dreams of being the best version of themselves that they could be.

Willie attended Richmond County Public Schools during her formative years, where her love for reading and desire to continually learn was born. She was part of the first graduating class of Thomas Walter Josey Highschool (T. W. Josey) in 1966. She took pride in continually supporting her Alma mater, with the Eagle mascot and bold colors of Green and Gold.

Willie entered the workforce, working for the V.A. in the field of nursing. She later became a “highly skilled” employee at the Georgia Department of Labor, where she shared her talents for thirty-four years before entering a retirement status. Willie was never the type of individual to put “all of her eggs into one basket”. As a result, she often found with a second and sometimes third part-time job where she could lend such skills as being a leader, instructor, financial administrator/bookkeeper, secretary, customer service lead, cashier, sales associate, baker, organizer, and visionary to use, letting her industrious qualityshine “for the win.” Willie’s love for people and willingness to keep learning while sharpening those older skills made her more valuable at each work adventure, where she obtained not only loyal customers, but also life-long friends. Willie’s part-time adventures include such places as “S&S Cafeteria (Downtown Augusta)”, “SEARS and Roebuck (15th Street and the Augusta Mall)”, and “Food Lion (former Old Petersburg Road and Belair Road Locations)”.

Willie was a “life-long” cheerleader for the two jewels of her life, her daughter (Talithia) and her grand-daughter (Tetandianocee) – whom she affectionately called her PPG, “Precious Piece of Gold”. She advocated for them to acquire thesame passion of learning by getting them involved with the reading program sponsored by the local public library, helping them to excel academically by steering them towards obtaining education in a magnet school setting and by pursuing secondary education, though enjoying the simple things along the way. Both of her jewels dabbled in extra curriculum activities involving the Arts, along with some recreational department pursuits. Willie was always present for every performance, recital, game, school activity, PTA meeting, and more. This was her way of helping her two little jewels to “SOAR”.

Willie was keenly interested in her spiritual needs too. If a discussion or learning opportunity availed itself for her to hear or participate in a bible-based discussion, she often chose to stay. Willie learned to examine the scriptures like the Bereans and found priceless nuggets of truth along the way. Willie was affiliated with only two churches during her lifetime, as she endeavored to satisfy her spiritual needs. Jerusalem Baptist Church was her original church home, where she was baptized at an early age. She later transferred her church home to the Everfaithful Missionary Baptist Church (EMBC), where she resided for more than forty years until she fell asleep in death. During her brief lifetime of seventy-eight years, Willie discovered the truthfulness of Acts 20:35. A lot of her happiest moments were obtained when she tirelessly gave her time and energy to support the youth, the elderly, her two beloved jewels, and those whom she found in need.

Willie’s hobbies include reading, traveling, shopping, dancing, bowling, sewing, singing, dining, motivating others to learn, sharing tender moments with family, especially her PPG (Precious Piece of Gold) granddaughter, Tetandianocee. Willie conquered her fear of large bodies of water by going on a cruisein 2004 which she enjoyed so much that kept cruising with her Church family and lifelong Best Friend (Dorothy Davis).

Willie M. C. Norman was preceded in death by her father, Mr.Willie (Billy) Henry Corlery, her mother, Mrs. Lizzie (Liz) Mae Young Corley, and her sisters, Karen Elizabeth Corley and Billy Ann Corley.

Willie leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughter Talithia (Willie) Germany of Augusta Georgia; her granddaughter Tetandianocee Germany of Augusta Georgia; her bonus grandson Willie Germany III of Hephzibah Georgia; her bonus granddaughter Quiandara Germany of Hephzibah Georgia; her bonus great grandsons Deon Morgan Jr of Hephzibah Georgia, Kacen Morgan of Hephzibah Georgia, Kanon Morgan of Hephzibah Georgia, Josiah Germany of Tampa Florida, Rylen Germany of Trenton, South Carolina; her bonus great grand-daughter Raya Germany of Trenton, SC; her God sons, Tyrone Davis of Augusta Georgia, Reginald Davis of Augusta Georgia; her Sisters Carolyn (DeCarlos) Lewis of California, Barbara Kimbrough of Las Vegas, Nevada, Evone Smith of Hephzibah, Georgia, Phyllis Corley of Augusta, Georgia; her lifelong Best friend, Dorothy Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, other God family members and loving friends.

Viewing will be from 2 to 6 pm Friday, September 18, 2026, at the funeral home.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm.

The Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Everfaithful Missionary Baptist Church, 314 Sand Bar Ferry Rd, Augusta, GA 30901.

Interment will follow at the Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, GA 30904
