Obituary For Willie Mae Norman

Willie M. C. Norman was born on March 25, 1948, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Willie (Billy) Corley and Lizzie (Liz) Young Corley. She was the oldest of seven siblings, whom she loved and nurtured along the way. One of Willie’s many accomplishments included being a graduate of T. W. Josey’s Class of 1966 (the inaugural class). She entered the workforce, working for the V.A. in the field of nursing. Willie later became an employee at the Georgia Department of Labor, where she shared her talent for thirty-four years before entering a semi-retirement status. Her love for people and willingness to use those customer service skills acquired along the way led Willie to also work for such places as “S&S Cafeteria (Downtown Augusta),” SEARS and Roebuck (15th Street and the Augusta Mall), and Food Lion (former Old Petersburg Road and Belair Road locations). With each work adventure, she picked up not only loyal customers but also lifelong friends.

Willie was keenly interested in her spiritual needs. If a discussion or learning opportunity availed itself for her to hear or participate in a Bible-based discussion, she did not shun it or turn away. Instead, she examined the scriptures like the Bereans and found priceless nuggets of truth along the way. Willie was affiliated with only two churches, officially. The first, Jerusalem Baptist Church, is where she was baptized at an early age before switching to Everfaithful Missionary Baptist Church (EMBC), where she was a member for more than forty years. Willie discovered happiness in giving, as she tirelessly gave her time and energy to support the youth, the elderly, and those whom she found in need.

Willie M. C. Norman was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Willie (Billy) Henry Corley; her mother, Mrs. Lizzie (Liz) Mae Young Corley; and her sisters, Karen Elizabeth Corley and Billy Ann Corley.

Willie leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Talithia (Willie). Germany of Augusta, Georgia; her granddaughter, Tetandianocee Germany of Augusta, Georgia; bonus grandson, Willie Germany III of Hephzibah, Georgia; bonus granddaughter, Quiandara Germany of Hephzibah, Georgia; her God sons, Tyrone and Reginald Davis of Augusta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Viewing will be from 2 to 6 pm Friday, September 18, 2026, at the funeral home.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm.

The Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Everfaithful Missionary Baptist Church, 314 Sand Bar Ferry Rd, Augusta, GA 30901.

Interment will follow at the Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, GA 30904
