Obituary For Arthur W. Miller, III

Arthur W. Miller, III, 43, passed away on February 22, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Arthur was born on June 25, 1981 in Albuquerque, NM to Julianne Stroup and Arthur W. Miller, Jr. When he was born his sister Lindsay couldn’t pronounce his name so she named him Arie and that’s how his life began.

Arie grew up in Albuquerque, graduated from Aurora Community College in Aurora, Colorado and went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. While in college Arie worked for a Robotics Firm in Longmont, Colorado. He came back to NM and lived in Truth or Consequences before moving to Berkley, California.

He had an adventurous spirit since he was a boy, always looking for the next mountain to climb and stream to fish. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking the “14ers” in Colorado, his favorite being Longs Peak. Arie traveled the Western States and Hawaii but always returned to California which he loved. He was introduced to the piano at the age of 10 by his teacher the late Paul Marchiondo, who instilled the love of music which continued throughout Arie’s life.

Arie is survived by his parents; his step-mother Terri Miller; his sister, Lindsay Norman (Erik) of Meridian, MS; and nephews- Leif and Leyton Norman; Uncles-Jeff Sanchez (Kathy) of Carlton, Oregon, James Sanchez (Debbie) of Albuquerque, and Joseph Sanchez, Jr of Utah; Aunts- Joyce Sanchez (Jim Bentley) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jeannette Smith (Steve) of Nova Scotia, Canada; Cousins- James Bentley, David Bentley (Katarina), Amanda Aldarete (Frank), Andrea Spina (Johnno), Jacob Smith (Dr. Breanna Shillington), Sam Smith (Abby), Allison Lowe (Mike), and Ian Smith (Marokh Yousifshahi); as well as numerous extended family members.

Arie is preceded in death by his grandparents- Joseph and Alice Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM and Arthur W. and Shirley Miller of Cos Cob, CT; his step-father-Thomas Stroup of Elephant Butte, NM; and cousin, Jessica Danielle Sanchez of Albuquerque.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Erik Norman, James Sanchez, Vince Dominguez, Tony Rivera, Mark Day, Vincent Berardi. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Sanchez and Joe Ziegenfuss.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Church of the Butte, (516 NM 195 in Elephant Butte, NM 87935) officiated by Pastor Houston Cano. Burial will follow at Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery in Truth or Consequences and a reception to follow at Church at the Butte.
