Obituary For Candelaria "Candy" Hernandez

Candelaria Hernandez, 33, a lifelong resident of Sierra County, passed away on November 28, 2023. Candy was born to Gilberto Hernandez and Julia Ontiveros on January 1, 1990, in Las Cruces, NM. Candy was caring, generous and compassionate. She worked as a server at Denny’s. Candy loved camping and fishing though she was most comfortable at home with her family and did not like being around a lot of people. Candy was straight forward. She would tell you how she saw things, and didn’t care to hurt your feelings, as long as you corrected it. She is survived by her father, Gilberto Hernandez; mother, Julia Ontiveros; her nieces and nephews, which she considered her kids, Jacqueline Hernandez, Damian Enriquez, Evony Enriquez and Alanna Esparza; and her siblings: Maria Ontiveros, Shawn Ross, Rosiyo Hernandez, Jesus Robeldo, and Gilberto Barron. A Celebration of Candy’s Life will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at 8 San Felipe Rd., Arrey, NM.
