It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Chantel Brooks, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, who went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2025 at the age of 31. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the lasting impact she made on everyone who knew her.
Born on January 26, 1994 in Socorro NM, Chantel brought light into the world with her warm smile, generous heart, and unshakable strength. She was a woman of resilience and fierce love Whether she was comforting a friend or family member or caring for her children, Chantel had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.
Chantel was deeply devoted to her girls. She was a loving mother who poured her heart into her children, always striving to give them a life filled with hope and opportunity. Her girls were her heartbeat, and her love was a constant, steady force in their lives.
She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her honest conversations, and her ability to find beauty even in life’s hardest moments. Her presence was a gift, her wisdom was beyond her years, and her legacy will live on in the lives she touched.
Chantel is preceded in death by her mother, Torrie Woods; and her Papa, Clyde R. Woods Sr.. She leaves behind her baby girls, Catalya and Cahmryn; her dad, Marvin Romero (Charmayne); her step mom, Karrie Wicks; her sister, Courtnie Woods (Sajid); her brother, Ethan Flores; her Nana, Rosemary Woods; her Papa Marv; her Grandma, Cindy Delph (John); and her husband, Joseph Brooks; as well as a host of family, friends, and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Chantel’s Life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the Caballo Church, in Caballo NM. All who knew and loved Chantel are welcome to attend and honor her memory.
Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in knowing she is now at peace, embraced in the arms of her Savior. Her memory will continue to live on through the love she gave, the lives she changed, and the memories we hold close.
Rest in love, Chantel. You are deeply missed and forever cherished.
