Our dear mother, Delfina M. Otero, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Las Cruces, NM. She was born on July 28, 1941, in Corona, NM to Jose and Elvira (Mirabal) Jaramillo.
Delfina was a hairdresser in Albuquerque for 18 years. She has resided in Truth or Consequences for the last five years. Delfina loved her dog “Ricky” with all her heart. She enjoyed planting her geraniums every spring. She loved cooking and sharing her cooking with family, friends, and her neighbors. She shared her love for the Lord with everyone she came in contact with. Delfina was a wonderful mother who was always there with a prayer for everyone. She was loved by many friends and neighbors.
Survivors include her children – Paul Otero (Julia), Ruby Vallejos (Jr.), and Danny Otero; 19/grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1/great-great-grandchild; and sister, Viola D’Arco (Mike). She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Elvira Jaramillo; spouse, Paul Otero, Jr.; son, Larry Otero; sister, Stella Paasche; and brothers – Joe Jaramillo, Tony Jaramillo, and Ramon Jaramillo.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00 A.M., with a reception to follow, at the Church at the Butte with Pastor Houston Cano officiating.

Delfina,was a light of wisdom and comfort for her family and friend.She was always laughing and wanting to have fun.I would miss seeing her and Paul at the Casinos.She was always a delight to have around.I wish life would of been different.God only knows,Can you see the reunion with her and Paul,and Larry.Only imagine..........What a beautiful soul.She will be missed.Im so sorry for your loss....
I'll cherish all the funny memories of my grandma poking fun at my grandpa. Also, the AMAZING canned cake and snacks she'd send us away with. It brings much peace knowing grandma is now reunited with grandpa ♥️♥️♥️
