Gary Michael Lambert, aka “Gare Bear”, 73, passed away suddenly at his home in Truth or Consequences on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Gary was born in Las Vegas, NV to Ted and Patricia (Vigil) Lambert. He proudly served in the US Navy, during the Vietnam war. He was the happiest person, always laughing and making everyone else laugh. He loved to spread his laughter and happiness to those around him. Gary was a school bus driver for many years before his retirement in 2019. He was also the best chainsaw repairman! When he wasn’t working, Gary enjoyed playing the piano, as a member of the 247 Blues band. Left to carry on his memory is his wife, Lynette Baker; son, Corey Lambert; stepchildren: Krystal Baker, Michelle Adkins and Billy Baker; grandchildren- Kora, Aiden and Bella Evelyn; sister, Louann Rodriguez; 2 nephews- Alec and Jason; niece, Danielle; 4 great nephews and 1 great niece. Cremation has taken place, and per Gary’s wishes, no services will be held.
Gary was, for several years, the member of the BEST dance band in Sierra County and maybe further. Much of the time this band played (it went my so many names I won't try to add them here) it played for free (or for tips) just to bring joy and entertainment into our communities. My favorite spot and favorite memory was when the band played at the Dam Site restaurant out on the patio when EB lake was full and the boating crowd would tie up almost next to the patio and hang out for an afternoon of fun. He was a part of this special group of guys and I thank Gary and know that wherever he is there will be music. Bless your heart - play on !! candi
