Obituary For John David McCarty
On October 21, 2020, John David McCarty, son of John and Linda McCarty, left those he loved on earth and went home to his Father in heaven. David was born in Scottsdale, AZ and lived his early years in Playas, New Mexico. He earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Leadership and Counseling Psychology from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. While in college he met the love of his life, Cindy Pierson. David and Cindy were married and had three beautiful children.
David served as pastor of Family Worship Center in Raton, New Mexico for fourteen years. During these years he led many good works with generosity and a servant’s heart. He had a heart for the lost and would celebrate his birthday by sharing the gospel with as many people as years he was celebrating. He could make a friend anywhere he went and loved to make people laugh. David had a hilarious sense of humor, enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, taught P.E. for an elementary school, drove a school bus, and taught martial arts.
Despite difficult circumstances, his love for his family never waned. David met struggles with strength and determination. He cherished his parents and was always looking for and sharing with folks in need. His earthly battles are over now, rest in peace dear David. You will be missed.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Faye McCarty. He is survived by parents, John and Linda McCarty; brother, Randy McCarty; two daughters - Marisa and Mariah; and son, Keith McCarty.
Cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time.

I wish you could've seen life outside of the shackles of religion.
To speak of what a great & true friend you were would be deeply understated, as you often left me speechless. For that, I am eternally grateful that I was allowed that very privelage and its the private chats and deep connection in writing that we shared that continues to keep me walking with my head up, my heart light & my purpose strong, you'll be in my heart always Dave.
