Dear Fancher family. We were heartbroken when we heard, that Kaitlin has passed away. It is something that is still hard to believe and accept. We are so sorry for your loss. We were very lucky to know Kaitlin. She lived with us for 4 months during her exchange in Finland in 2015 and she also visited us in 2019. Kaitlin was a very charming person, who loved the nature and animals. The New Mexican and Finnish cultures are very different, but she adapted to the Finnish lifestyle incredibly well. We still do not really understand, how she could learn our both languages, Finnish and Swedish, so quickly. She especially liked these Finnish words: höpö höpö. Kaitlin really loved the sauna, especially the wooden one by the sea. We remember sitting in the livingroom and hearing her listen to music in the sauna. She liked Finland, was interested of the arctic nature and got to visit Lapland twice. It is easy to say, that she was a citizen of the world of the new generation. During Kaitlin's exchange year, the mother of our family, Anne, fell sick with a serious disease and passed away in 2017. Kaitlin's presence during that time was one thing that helped us to keep the sad thoughts away. With her smile and laughter she brought us a piece of the New Mexican sun to help us during the hard times. We were planning to visit Kaitlin in New Mexico. Now everything has changed. We feel like we have lost a very dear person who was almost like a New Mexican daughter and sister for us. It is going to take some time to recover from this, but we believe that God is taking care of Kaitlin now. We will always miss you, Kaitlin. Risto, Roosa and Matilda Raiskila.

Dear Ryan and Wendy. I cannot describe how I feel about your loss of little Kaiti. She was only eight years old when she helped you build our home. I loved little Kaiti as I did her sister Chelsea. I remember she and Chelsea earned a nickle for every lost nail they picked up around the house as it was being built. May God bless you and may you know even at 8 years of age she made a difference. Kaitlin was beautiful, strong-willed, smart, and always unapologetically herself. She was talented at everything she did. I Will always treasure our memories growing up.

I will never forget when we all had interviews for FFA leadership roles in school. We were asked what Disney character we'd be; everyone had chosen some sort of Disney princess character. But Kaiti chose Goofy. Her personality always stood out like that. She was awesome that way.
