Katherine Anne Hulse, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, in Truth or Consequences, NM.
Affectionately known as Grandma Katherine, she was born on June 6, 1931, in Albuquerque, NM, to Howard Seward and Dorles Cavasos. Throughout her long and meaningful life, Katherine held many roles, but the one closest to her heart was serving as a foster grandparent for 22 years. Her love and care touched the lives of countless children and families in her community.
Katherine had a passion for the simple joys of life. She loved sewing, gardening, and above all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives were brightened by her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering love.
She is survived by her children- Elizabeth Westphal and husband Don, Linda Gervasio and husband David, and Carol Atwater and husband Robbie; grandchildren- Joseph Librers, Jamie Ablett, Katherine Gervasio (Anthony), and Louis Gervasio; brother, James Samuel King and wife, Olivia; great-grandchildren- Julia, Antonia, Adrian, Anthony, Antonio, Mahalia, Alessandra, Misael, Amaya and Gianna; as well as numerous friends.
She was preceded by her husband, Teddy Hulse; son, Jackie Hulse; grandson, Anthony Librers; and brothers- Otis King and Thomas Seward.
Her legacy of kindness, service, and strength will live on in all who had the honor of knowing her. She will be deeply missed.
My heartfelt condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to eliminate all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including pain, suffering and death (Revelation 21:3,4). May these promises from God give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.
