Tio you will definitely be missed. It's too bad the only times I got to talk with were during reunions or when I went to visit my grama in Eldrida and you were there visiting with her. I loved listening to you, your sisters, my mom and my tias Gloria sit at the table talking and laughing...I sure wish I understood Spanish so I could have gotten in on the conversations. I remember the 2005 reunion when you were sitting at the table and you were seeing a button on your shirt I said tio you know how to sew!! He said yes mijita I had to learn they don't let us bring our mothers into the service. Hahaa I suppose so. We chatted a bit he was a funny man. During the reunion I listened to the men folk talk about the hole...little did I know they were going to be smoking our meal underground I thought it was great being from the city I've never seen anything like it. Tio Gabriel was super excited he kept saying to his big brother let's go. Lol. I don't know what his excitement was but he sure was happy. Lunchtime came around and we had hamburgers and carrot salad delicious!!! Anyhow I just so happen to be by Tio Louis when I asked, "hey where's the baby cow i fed yesterday?" He said....and if you can hear his voice as I can he said so sweetly...."oh mijita your eating it"....we laughed I thought he was joking lol...he wasn't. You know it was the best burger I had ever had. He said that's how we do it in the farm and with so many people to feed. Amazing! I sure wish I knew him like most but those memories with stay with me my entire life. And I will share them with my kids and grandchildren and great grandchildren to come pass down what little legacy he left with me to share. Beautiful soul.

I share my sadness with you all. And happiness with those who have received him into his new life.

I will always remember my lovable uncle Louis because when I was down and out I called him and he always lit up my life and changed my mood. One day at mom's house I was hemming a pair of pants and he just sat there watching me with that lovable grin and said Mija your doing it all wrong, let me show you how it's done, in NO time my hem was done. To my surprise I couldn't even see one stitch. How he did that I'll never know. I'll miss you dearly TIO.

So many memories of this beautiful soul. He had the best sense of humor. When his sister, Felicitas Ortiz, passed away her siblings showed up. That's who they were. I remember my Tias were in the kitchen doing dishes and in comes my Tio Louis. He walked straight to the sink and said, "let me show you girls how this is done." He finished up the dishes in no time. I will miss him dearly but know he's up there already being welcomed. Tio, you will always be a cherishd memory to us. Rest in peace.
