Manuela “Nellie” Urais Jaramillo was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 13, 1932 to Manuel and Tomasa Urais. She was raised by Brigido and Maria Fuentes. Nellie peacefully passed away on November 18, 2023, in San Bernardino, California. She was 90 years old.
Her last days were surrounded with so much love and family. Family who sat with her, spoke to her, sang to her, prayed for her, kissed her and held her hand through her last breath. She never remarried after losing the love of her life, Marcos Jaramillo, who went to be with our Lord in 1998. Together, they had 16 beautiful children. They lived a long life filled with love.
Nellie was the heart of her family. A small, quiet woman who stood as a pillar of strength. She taught her children the love of God and how she believed His promises would reunite her family. She never complained or showed pain or weakness, instead kept a smile on her face as she held on as long as she could. Again, not so much for herself but for her family. She loved shopping, eating at Denny’s, and having her nails and hair done. She also liked to do holiday arts and crafts. A little jewelry and Sees lollipops never hurt either.
She was more than a wife and mother: she was a grandmother, a best friend and confidant to her girls, a safe haven for her boys and an example of unconditional love to all her family. Her sense of humor was always heartwarming. The lessons taken from her conversations will always be cherished.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Jaramillo; and 5 of her children: daughter Linda Gonzales (Ben), daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Frank Zavala, daughter Ginger Jeffers Jaramillo, son Gregory Jaramillo, son Adam Jaramillo, son-in-law David Hernandez, son-in-law Richard Culver, son-in-law Alfonso Mancinas, grandson Davie Escobar, granddaughter Tiffany Hensley, and great grandson Christian R Halsey. She is survived by 11 of her children: Lupe Hernandez, Dawnetta Halsey (Andy), Johanna Culver, Valerie Quiroz (Frank), Mary Mancinas, Jessica Padilla (Michael), Susan Avila, Bonnie Robles (Dominique), Joe Jaramillo (Pat Lucero), Marcus Jaramillo (Pat) and Jesus Jaramillo (Amy), as well as 45 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
There are no words to describe the void your family will now feel, but we will fill that void with memories of your love, laughter, and you sticking your tongue out at us. We are thankful, grateful, honored, and blessed to have had you in our lives. We will honor your memory and all that you have instilled in us by loving one another and holding on to our Father God’s promise that we will see you and Daddy again. We love you momma.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the T. or C. Civic Center, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Beautiful Mom, I miss your smile, humor, the smell of your perfume, cuddling with you watching little house on the prairie. Life time movies and telenovela, and how much you loved the holidays. You were the glue that held our family together. The ache of losing you is immeasurable. Some days I feel your presence and a sense that you are not gone that your just a few blocks away on your recliner watching your favorite shows. But not a day passes by were I don't miss you. You were flawless with a heart pure as gold. People were in aww of you. Your faith and family is what kept you motivated. Selfless was a trait that reflected everything you were about. Your family adored and loved you. You were loved by so many people. Your faith clearly showed and was a strong light in your life. You prayed thanking God for the life he gave you and the people he surrounded you with. But you even prayed for the ones who wronged you in the past. You used to pray that they will find peace in the Lord. Your heart was full of love for everyone.
My Beautiful loving Mother you will truly be missed
You will never be forgotten
