Obituary For Martha Elizabeth Ostler

Martha Elizabeth Ostler, 54, of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, passed away August 26th, 2023, of Pancreatic Cancer. Martha was born to Emmitt Bryson Ostler and Shirley Ann Denton in Albuquerque, NM, on November 7, 1968.

Martha, as a child, loved to do summersaults through the grass. Now as June Anders tells it, “Today, Martha is doing summersaults on the streets of gold in Heaven”. Martha was not of any church congregation but was part of Christ and wanted nothing to do with man centered institutions such as those found in The Gospel of Mark 12:41-44. She saw those in leadership are called to help those in need (Deuteronomy 15) but instead served them self (Ezekiel 34). Martha’s desire was to serve the Messiah only and be His Doulos (Deuteronomy 6:5 and Psalms 31) and to help others such as found in James 1:27. Not to follow those who are deceived (Galatians 1:6-24 and Deuteronomy 13).

Martha’s mother Shirley passed away when Martha was only 4 years old. Splitting up the children so that Shirley’s children from previous marriages went to live with their maternal grandparents. Martha along with Phillip and Nathan lived with their father Emmett. Life during those times was difficult. Their father was abusive to the children and often when he worked on the road left them alone overnight (from 1973 to 1975). Their Maternal grandparents, found out about the children being left alone called New Mexico’s State Welfare department. After the department investigated the situation, they informed Emmett he needed to put them into day care. Joe and Mary Lujan and their children Darlene, Michael and Thomas opened their home to the children. They were a tremendous blessing for them. By late August of 1976 the children were signed over to the state and sent to All Faiths Receive Home, an orphanage. From there, Martha at age 10 went into foster care for a time with Bill and Chris Lichman. Who Martha kept up with them up to her death. Nathan went into foster care with Dale and Diane Porter. Martha and Nathan, after foster care went back to their fathers’ home while Phillip stayed with his new parents Chas Rapson and Marianne Bennett. Living with Emmett once again turned abusive. Martha left to live on the streets with her older brother Ronney Cole. They scraped by, by working odd jobs and at one point worked at a farm in the South Valley of Albuquerque off 2nd street, living in a station wagon. As Martha puts it, winter was very cold. Over time Martha would have a short marriage to Joseph Martinez as a teenager (age 15 to 19). Joseph was a Los Lunas Police officer. Later Joseph moved to Los Angeles, CA to become a police officer there. Martha wanted to stay in New Mexico, so this led to their divorce. Martha soon after the divorce received her GED High School diploma through JOB Corps. Martha enjoyed camping with her friends and never missed a trip. Spending time with Charlie, James and John Marino, Rocko, Scoop, Amy, Monte, Keith and many others. Martha made a living working as a housekeeper in both the hospitality and Hospital setting. Martha left Albuquerque, NM in 2020 because of corrupt Politian’s allowing for lawlessness to abound. She was also fed up with employment managers who managed from a script instead of taking time to know the position and work alongside the employee to get their point of view. The city that used to show kindness and love towards others, became a place of coldness. A city that cared for its citizens, now became a city state that only thinks of its citizens as slaves for its purpose. This is a wonderful example of the Horace Mann, Prussian educational plan that has enslaved Americans to become puppets for the state. A country that used to support freedom to worship inside the home, church as well as in the public square is now taboo. Martha also supported free enterprise and hard work. Martha wanted what was found in the Bible and encourages you to read it as well, Deuteronomy 6:5, 1 Corinthians 13, Mark 12:33 and Ephesian 2:8-9 (Sola fide, Sola Scriptura), to be everyone’s focus. Martha dedicated her life towards the Messiah (Solus Christus) after realizing she needed help with her addiction to alcohol and harmful thoughts (2 Corinthians 10) the only true help came from her creator (Isiah 44:6). Repenting from harmful behaviors and embracing the Lords plans found in scripture (James 1:22-25) she was set free of sin and now has a perfect relationship with Yeshua Hamashiach.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Shirley A. Denton (1973) and Emmitt B. Ostler (1992); Grandparents - Guy P Denton (1975), Dovie M Barnard (1982), David E Ostler (1982), and Violet G Cragun (1955).

Martha was the youngest of many brothers and sisters and many were half siblings. Half siblings through Emmett are Patrica Wison and Rebecca Danner (Mother: Melinda Green). James Ostler, Mark Ostler, Daniel Ostler, and Timothy Ostler (Mother: Marlyn Monk).

Half siblings through Shirley Denton are Ronald Cole and Donald Cole (Father: Ronald Cole Sr.) Kenneth Gentry (Father: Alva Carrol Gentry).

Emmett and Shirley’s children are Phillip Ostler, Nathan Ostler and Martha Ostler.

Martha has been cremated and her cremated remains will be placed in the Reid-Armor family plot in Kingston in a private service for family and invited friends. In lieu of flowers please make a dedication to reading the Holy Bible (Isaiah 43:10-11, 55:6-7, John 14, 1 John 2).
