"Love doesn't die- but people do..."
RIP Dearest One...after a valiant fight with cancer- Mary succumbed peacefully in her sleep and moved along to her new adventures elsewhere.
Thanks for the heartfelt positivity and well-wishes from many. She will always be missed- but as Family- we will heal together and love each other through it.
Known for her compassionate spirit, Mary worked as a Hospice Nurse, then as the Director of Nursing at Amber Care Home Healthcare & Hospice. For over 20 years, she helped many families through their dark-days. A very special thank you to "her Team" (as she called them) for their excellent care and assistance in her final days. Also, to her husband of 19 years, James, for his everlasting, caring love.
Her family was her greatest joy, with her love of gardening a close second. We don't believe she ever met a stray dog or cat she didn't try and foster and she enjoyed reading and hiking as well.
She is survived by her mother, Anita Moya of Albuquerque; her Caballo Family: husband, James Oliver; son, Beau Akers; daughter, Shanon Akers; grandson, Greyson Akers; siblings: Mack Nicholson, II of Caballo, Larry Moya of Nevada, Thursday Malec of Colorado, and Terry Nicholson of Albuquerque; as well as many extended family & friends.
At Mary's request, no public services will be held... she would rather you remember her in better, good times and in the Memories you’ve shared together.
