Sandra Buckelew, passed away in Elephant Butte, NM, on August 11, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born on September 27, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Robert Johnson and Shirley Acree. Sandra lived her life with an unwavering spirit of adventure and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Her zest for life was evident in her favorite activities: kayaking through serene waters, cycling along picturesque trails, skiing down snowy slopes, and engaging in various water sports. Her biggest joy came from spending time with her family.
Sandra's vibrant personality and genuine kindness touched everyone she met. She had a deep love for animals, especially her adored dogs and birds. She leaves behind a legacy of joy and a reminder to embrace life’s simple pleasures.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 45 years, Clyde Buckelew; son, Justin Buckelew and his wife, Danielle, of Waddell, AZ; and grandchildren- Preston Buckelew, Hannah Buckelew, and Faith Ann Buckelew, who will forever remember her adventurous spirit and loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Johnson; father, Robert Johnson; and brother, Stan Johnson.
Sandra's spirit will forever be a part of the great outdoors she cherished. May her adventurous soul find eternal peace in the vast and beautiful landscapes she adored.
