Obituary For Timothy R. Marquez

Timothy R. Marquez, 70, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 17, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.

He was born on September 11, 1954, in Clovis, NM, to Mike Marquez and Erlinda Garcia. Tim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and took great pride in serving his country. On October 3, 1980, Tim married the love of his life, Sara Yvonne Mendoza. They were happily married for 44 years.

Tim worked for the New Mexico Gas Company until his retirement in February 2018 and was a dedicated member of Legion Post 44.

He was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved golfing, boating, and shooting his guns. More than anything, Tim cherished spending time with his family and friends. Being out on the lake with them was one of his favorite places to be. He also found joy in coaching and mentoring kids, always eager to make a positive impact on young lives.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Marquez; grandchildren- Landon Garcia, Estevan Cordova, Anthony Silvens; siblings- Frankie Marquez, Tina Garcia (Johnny), Odelia Marquez and David Marquez; as well as numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sons - Tony Garcia and Scotty Marquez; and his parents, Mike and Erlinda Marquez.

A Memorial Service will be held in Tim’s honor on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with a Rosary starting at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Memorial Mass. Tim will be laid to rest with military honors at Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery
