Obituary For William Hallenback Troup

William Hallenbeck “Bill” Troup, 58, passed away on August 29, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer at his home in Elephant Butte NM. Bill was born to John Jepson Troup and Janice Faye Hallenbeck Troup, on November 9, 1963 in San Gabriel, California.

Bill grew up in southern California and after traveling the country finally relocated to T or C in 1982 where he met Dorthy Christy and fell in love.

They roamed the country together and raised their kids in NM and MN, finally settling down for good in Sierra County in 2007, when their granddaughter, Amy, was born.

He was a “Jack of all trades” he did everything from handyman and DTV instillation to mechanic work, property management and cooking for a living with Dorthy right beside him all along the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jeff and wife Tommie Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dorthy Troup; son, William E. and wife Amber Troup; daughter, Angel D. Troup and fiancé Joshua Barron; granddaughter, Amy Zae Troup; sister, Lesa Brienza; brothers; John Troup, Ryan Mobley, Gene Rowley, Leon Hall and Eric Miranda; and several nieces, nephews and adopted kids and grandkids.

He was very proud of his children and granddaughter and would do anything for his family.

Cremation has taken place and the family will be celebrating Bill’s life with BBQ to be announced at a later date.
