REFLECTIONS OF LIFE

TIME TO BE BORN: Fifty years ago on April 11, 1971, Alphonzo (Big Money) Greer was born to the late Verline and Tom Greer in Holmes County.

A TIME TO DIE: On October 24, 2021, Alphonzo departed this life. He was preceded in death by one grandchild; his brothers; Vann Greer, Sam Henderson, Jr., Odell Greer, T.J. Greer, Tommie Lee Greer, James Greer and D. L. Greer; his sisters; Louise Lovie, Lettie Ella Jackson;, Hazel D. Greer, Evone Mays and Gloria Greer; two brothers-in-law; James Harvey, Sr. and Joe Morgan; and one sister-in-law; Dorothy Greer(Lexington, MS).

A TIME TO PLANT: Alphonzo Greer confessed hope in Christ and joined Mt. Calvary M.B. Church and was an honorary member at Greater Nazareth M.B. Church of Tchula, MS.

A TIME TO LEARN: Alphonzo received his education from Tchula Attendance Center (T.A.C) and he also attended several fire and safety training classes.

A TIME TO WORK: Alphonzo worked as a farmer for Buddy Pass, a carpenter for Jim Andrews, Mansoor Hardware, Electrical Inspector, Holmes County School Bus Driver, Radio Announcer at 102.5 FM, Road Forman under the Supervision of Odell Hampton, Willie Townsend and Eddie Carthan; Supervisor District 5 Holmes County; he served as Fire Chief for the City of Tchula, MS; and Masonic Thornton Lodge 132. To sum it all up, he was a jack of all trades.

A TIME TO RELAX: Alphonzo enjoyed Disc Jockeying, helping others and watching wrestling.

A TIME TO MOURN: Alphonzo leaves to cherish his precious memories; his loving wife; Dora(Baby Doll)Greer; one son; Aruther(Chasity) Young, Tchula, MS; four daughters; Sharon (Adonnis)Young, Tchula, MS; Jessica(LaTaurus) Ridgeland, MS; Quiriola Brown and Moesha Coffer, Tchula, MS. A special daughter; JeMilya Hudson, Tchula, MS; eleven grandchildren; six brothers; Jerry Greer, Lexington, MS; Ray Greer, Alvin(Earnestine)Greer, Calvin(Vickie)Greer, Rodriquez Greer, Tchula, MS, and Berline(Shirley)Greer, Clinton, MS. Six sisters; Diane(Cal) Dixon, Jackson, MS; Patricia Greer, Jercinia (Larry)Smith, Sachia Harvey, Christhelena Greer and Sinetra Morgan, Tchula, MS; two special God Mothers; Dealice Young and Helen Harris, Tchula, MS; four sisters-in-laws; Mary Greer, Callie Greer and Mechelle Greer, Chicago, IL; three special friends: Leo Wilson, Calvin Wilson and Zula Patterson, Tchula, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A TIME OF PEACE:

ALPHONZO (BIG MONEY) GREER is resting without sickness. He is resting with God.
