OBITUARY:
Alvester “Bama” Fort was born on May 1, 1967, in Lexington, MS., to Dorothy Greer and John Perry Boyd. From and early age, he confessed his life to Christ and later rejoined Mt Zion M.B. Church in the Howard Community, where his faith continued to guide him throughout his life.
Alvester attended the Tchula Attendance Center before enrolling in the Job Corps in Gulfport, MS where he earned his high school diploma. After completing his education, he pursued a lifelong career as a truck driver, a profession he proudly held for nearly twenty years. Known on the CB radio by his handle “Undertaker”, Bama was respected by fellow drivers and colleagues across the region for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Alvester's life was filled with love for his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Dorothy Greer; sisters, Glenda Greer, Crystolinna (Daniel)Gibson of Lexington, MS, Kissie (Otis)Buchanan and Marie Nelson from Tchula, MS; and four brothers, Derrick(Retha)Greer of Ebenezer, MS and Luther Earl Fort (deceased). However, on his father's side, he cherishes the memory of John: John P. Boyd Jr., Alice Boyd, Annette Boyd, Lozerik Boyd, Robert Boyd, Corene Boyd, Keith Delaney, Nicole Brown and Tyrone Tucker(deceased). He leaves to cherish memories of his ex-wife, Annette Haymer, with two children, one daughter, Shannon Brinetet Fort and one son, Deangelo Alvester Fort from Tchula, MS., another daughter, Vivica Gibbs from Seminary, MS. Three grandsons: Tyriez L. Davis from Greenwood, MS, and Jaxson and Jaiden Davis from Seminary, MS. Favorite little cousin Kason Blue from Tchula, MS., a very special friend, Calvin Johnson from Lexington, MS., joined Bama and the Big Buck Biker Club in August 2025. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bama had been a friend of mine for over twenty years and he will be truly missed, all our conversations we had until the end.
