OBITUARY:

Cleveland Whiteside, Sr. was born September 25, 1946 in Carroll County Mississippi.

Cleveland was born to the union of the late Annie Phillips and the late Tom Whiteside. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was employed by JJ Ferguson Sand & Gravel Company as a truck driver for many years, and later worked as a farmer, until his health failed.

Cleveland was a loving father and husband. Cleveland was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Phillips and Tom Whiteside; two sisters, Rutha Gibson (Chicago), Annie Jackson (Memphis); and two grandsons, Mario Brooks and Cleveland Whiteside III.

Cleveland will be greatly missed and his memories cherished forever by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy Whiteside, six sons, Cleveland Whiteside Jr.(Diana)(Tchula, MS) Elvis Brooks(Jackson, MS), Alonzo Brooks(Duluth, GA), Marcus Brooks(Mary)(Smithfield, VA),James and Derrick Brooks (Tchula, MS); four daughters, Shirley Whiteside(Tchula, MS)Jannie Sherpard(Don)(Marietta, GA), Andra Nelson(Lance)(Dallas, GA), Tanger Brooks(Canton, GA)and two sisters, Essie Tims(Memphis, TN)Jessie Wilson(Dayton, OH), 29 grandchildren, two preceded in death and five great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
