OBITUARY:
A Time to be born…
Gary Jethro Crisler “Jed” was born July 12, 1953 in Crystal Springs, MS to the proud parents of J.C. and Rosa Crisler, both of Crystal Springs, MS who preceded him in death.
A time to love…
Gary graduated from Holtzclaw High School in 1971 and continued his education at Utica Jr. College where he obtained an Associate Degree.
He later pursued a career at Stuart Irby Electrical Co. in Jackson, MS where he was the most dedicated, hardworking, long serving truck driver Irby has ever employed. He worked there for 45 years. He then worked at Milwaukee Tools in Jackson, MS for 2 years. (He just couldn't sit down).
He lived in Jackson all of his life until he moved back to Crystal Springs in 2015 to help care for his ailing mom.
Gary had an outstanding personality and kindness toward people. He loved his family, neighbors, co-workers and friends, He had a giving nature. He will be remembered by all of his nieces, nephews and community as the uncle with the popsicles, $2 bills and who could jump higher than a frog on a lily pad. Gary had an enormous appetite for sports, westerns and food. He was a gentle and loving among men.
A time to die…
On March 5, 2024, Gary answered God's call to exit this life. He died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
A time to reflect…
Gary leaves to cherish his beautiful memories one daughter Fameeka Shunta Jenkins (Memphis, TN);four grandchildren; Zearius Jenkins(Atlanta, GA), Kameron Chambers, Chloe Jenkins, Kamille Jenkins(all of Memphis, TN); one great-grandson Kree Jenkins(Murfreesboro, TN)five siblings; Rhonda Anderson, Glenn(Marie) Crisler, Gloria(Earnest), Andre (Betty)and Charles Ray Williams; a special niece Erica “Fuji” (Vent) Green; a special nephew Darrance “Gopher” Brown; a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gary had one, Derrick Crisler and one niece, Monique Anderson who preceded him in death.
Gary, I enjoyed working with you over the years. Your family and friends are in my prayers.
